Carbon Filter for 100mm and 150mm Grow Tent Ventilation
This cylindrical carbon filter is available in 100mm and 150mm sizes. It connects to a matching inline extractor fan and filters exhaust air before it leaves an indoor grow space. The removable white pre-filter shown in the product image helps keep larger dust particles away from the carbon bed.
Choose the Size by Your Existing Duct Line
| Option | Compatible line | Typical decision |
|---|---|---|
| 100mm | 100mm fan, ducting and clamps | Compact 100mm exhaust systems |
| 150mm | 150mm fan, ducting and clamps | Larger 150mm exhaust systems |
Fan capacity, heat load, humidity and duct resistance all matter. Select a fan that can still move enough air after the filter and ducting are connected.
How to Install the Carbon Filter
- Mount the filter high inside the tent, where warmer air gathers.
- Support the canister with straps from the tent frame.
- Connect the flange to the same-size fan or ducting.
- Seal and clamp each joint so air cannot bypass the filter.
- Route the exhaust with as few bends as possible.
Most setups pull air through the filter before it enters the fan. This keeps the filter inside the controlled space and makes it easier to maintain negative pressure.
Maintenance and Replacement Signals
Inspect the pre-filter between growing cycles. Remove surface dust carefully and reinstall it only when dry. Do not rinse the carbon-filled canister. The working life of a carbon filter varies with humidity, airflow and airborne load, so avoid relying on a fixed replacement date.
First check duct leaks, fan speed and pre-filter blockage if performance drops. Replace the filter when exhaust air is no longer adequately filtered after those checks.
Complete the Exhaust Line
Pair it with the standard inline extractor fan, aluminium ducting and matching clamps. Choose the upgraded filter if you need a 200mm option.
Carbon Filter FAQ
Can the 100mm filter connect to a 150mm fan?
A reducer can make the physical connection, but it adds resistance. A same-size fan and filter are the cleaner choice.
Should the fan push or pull through the filter?
Most compact grow-tent systems pull through the filter. Follow the fan airflow direction and support both components securely.
Does the pre-filter need cleaning?
Yes. Clean it when visibly dusty so it does not restrict airflow.
