Activated Carbon Filter for Matched Exhaust Systems
This upgraded activated carbon filter is available with 100mm, 150mm and 200mm connections. It is designed to sit on the intake side of a matching inline fan so air passes through the carbon bed before it leaves the grow space.
Choose the Correct Diameter
| Filter option | Pair with | Connection rule |
|---|---|---|
| 100mm | 100mm upgraded inline fan | Use 100mm ducting and clamps |
| 150mm | 150mm upgraded inline fan | Use 150mm ducting and clamps |
| 200mm | 200mm upgraded inline fan | Use 200mm ducting and clamps |
Do not choose the filter by price alone. A filter that is too restrictive can reduce air exchange, while mismatched flange sizes require reducers and add more resistance. Keep the full line at one diameter when possible.
What Makes This the Upgraded Option
- Three flange sizes, including a 200mm option for larger systems.
- Replaceable flange design for easier system matching.
- External pre-filter sleeve that can be removed for cleaning.
- Designed to pair with the upgraded speed-controlled inline fan range.
The pre-filter catches larger airborne dust before it reaches the carbon bed. Clean the sleeve when it becomes visibly dusty and make sure it is completely dry before reinstalling it. Do not wash the carbon-filled canister.
Installation and Maintenance
- Mount the activated carbon filter high inside the tent or grow room.
- Support its weight with straps rather than the ducting.
- Connect it to a same-size fan using the shortest practical path.
- Check that air is being pulled through the filter rather than leaking around connections.
- Inspect the pre-filter and airflow regularly.
Filter life depends on humidity, airflow, airborne load and hours of operation. A persistent change in exhaust odour or a noticeable loss of airflow is a better replacement signal than a fixed calendar promise.

Activated Carbon Filter FAQ
Can I use it with the standard inline fan?
Match the diameter and verify airflow capacity. The upgraded fan is the intended pairing because both ranges include the same 100mm, 150mm and 200mm sizes.
Can the carbon be washed?
No. Clean only the removable outer pre-filter and keep the carbon canister dry.
When should the filter be replaced?
Replace it when exhaust odour is no longer controlled after checking for leaks, or when airflow remains restricted after the pre-filter is cleaned.
